Frequently Asked Questions
How can it help?
Talking as openly as you can, in a confidential setting, to someone trained to listen sensitively; who is impartial and will not judge you, can help to clarify experiences that are making life feel difficult. Through understanding the way you are feeling and making sense of what is troubling, counselling can help you regain control and develop new, more satisfying ways of coping.
How many sessions will I need?
Therapy is a personal process and we would consider this in light of your area of concern and what you want to achieve. As it is exclusive to you, we would discuss whether a time-limited or open-ended way of working would be most helpful. We also review development regularly as we go along.
Counselling usually takes place weekly; psychotherapy may on occasions be more frequent, with appointments arranged for the same day and time each week.
